Book Fairies

I have discovered the magic of Book Fairies.

"The Book Fairies is a worldwide organization. The Book Fairies are people who, when they’ve finished reading a good book, want a unique and fun way to pass it on to the next person. They put a ribbon on and pop an official book fairy sticker on it, which reads ‘take this book, read it & leave it for the next person to enjoy’, and they will hide it in public to be found. The idea is to pass on the books you love to read, and to encourage a worldwide movement of book sharing." - quote from https://ibelieveinbookfairies.com/

In all honesty, this is something I have done for years, I buy used books and after reading them, I pass them on to Little Free Libraries, friends, family or local indie bookshops. So I am very excited to put a name to it! Specially one that includes the magic that books can bring.

Books provide shelter, a place to share stories, and a place where we can let our imagination run wild.

"The Clique" and "A Series of Unfortunate Events" connected me to friends and provided company in Middle School. "Twilight", "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and all of Nicholas Sparks' books went with me to High School. I found Peter Menzel's photography books while visiting a museum at a small town in Florida. I got to see Brandon Stanton from "HONY" at my College. And discovered Mitch Albom's books after graduating. Hank Green's "The Carls" and Jodi Picoult's "Small Great Things" were the highlight of my covid season. I recently returned to reading more thanks to Sarah J Maas' "ACOTAR", "Throne of Glass" and "Crescent City". I could not stop reading "Verity" from Colleen Hoover. I have felt lighter while reading Emily Henry's books. And learned so much about the world with Malala, Trevor Noah, Min Jin Lee's "Pachinko", Tara Westover's "Educated", Julia Alvarez' "How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accents" and Marjane Satrapi's "Persepolis". - just to name a few.
