Her name is Anabel. "My complete name is: Ana Isabel. But I have never used it. Not even on my school tests. The only person in school who called me Ana Isabel was my linguistics professor. My grandfather once told me on one of our walks that he did not like 'Anabel'. That is just how he is. But Anabel is who I am."
She came to the Unites States for college and is now working in Miami. "My boss offered to sponsor my work visa, but I politely declined. That would mean I stay at least 3 more years here in the US. I want to go back home and my OPT ends this December. Here, I sometimes feel lonely, my friends from college has started to move away. The only reason why I would stay is because of my boyfriend, but he is not clear on what he wants to do after college yet. Plus, I would work in the same company in Madrid."
"I don't like 'las corridas de toro' (bullfight). The only ones I have been to were close to where I live in the outskirts of Madrid. And I have only been 3 times." She implies it is because of how they treat the bulls. "I do like when they make them all run. And after the event, they will cook the bull completely and give the food for free to the community. It is delicious."
Her father is a Real Madrid soccer super fan. "The day I was born my father went to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and signed me up for my 'abono' (lifetime membership and seat). He has it and my three sisters as well. He used to tell me how, before there was anything electronic, he would go in the stadium, go up to the tower and throw my mother his ticket in a tobacco box so she could get in."
"Best Spanish singers in my opinion: Leiva (was called Pereza before), Taburete and to change the style a bit: Estopa. The album "El Madrileno" by C Tangana is great."
